The CMP Night Brace is a significant postural over-correcting night-time brace. It allows for maximum over-correction of the spine and is worn part-time. Designed for recumbent wear only, it can be worn both in bed and while laying on a sofa or bean bag in the evening before sleep; this aids maximum curve opening during this peak night-time growth, facilitating optimal growth modulation to assist curve progression.
Who is the CMP Brace Suitable for?
Children diagnosed with Idiopathic Scoliosis – Primarily indicated for single curves 20° – 40°, however, age and curve type will determine suitability in individual cases.
The CMP Night Brace is worn for 10 – 12 hours/per day.
Treatment Objectives
They vary considerably according to age and condition. It is very important to distinguish between In-Brace treatment objectives and outcomes, as the two can be very different. Generally speaking, rigid braces for children can achieve an in-brace curve reduction of around 90 – 100%.
Optimized growth modulation provided by the CMP Night Brace allows part-time (Night-Time) brace wear, to provide similar outcomes to that of full-time bracing for selected curves.
Typically, initial in-brace corrections demonstrated on x-ray imaging are almost 100% compared to the 50% in-brace corrections typically seen with full-time bracing.
